A quick sketch on a fault division in a vein of marble called 'madre cava' or 'quarry mother'. It's where there's a layer of brown crystals naturally separating blocks, a crack that with water and minerals flowing through it, gradually gets a build up. I do a lot of sketches, but its rare that I get this much expression out of so few chisel strokes.
