This 30" x 48" original oil painting is done in an old master technique of applying a series of glazes over the original grizaille. My grizaille consists of alternately brushing on paint and splattering it with thinner until I see what the paint is trying to tell me. I saw two women in the moonlit desert gathering wood for their fire, caught in a moment brought on by an unknown sound. It evokes mystery and fantasy. Most veiwers want to create a story for it.
