Life is just a four letter word
Unusual circumstances shape unusual artists – so also in the case of the 80´s Elektropunk icon Gregory-John Mc Cormick, better known under the artist name “Itchy” (Note! In accordance with his Idol Iggy Pop: Gregory´s first band was called “Itchy and the moscitos”). In the tender age of 8 years, his dad put him into a mental clinic, because Itchy was “out of norm!” and he only sat there and watched the people so strangly “observe-calmly”. There he got also Elektro Shock Therapy.
At that time still nobody suspected somewhat from the multi-talents of this great unique artist, and each approach of genius excited the town concern. Today the 40 year old classically studied pianist looks back on 25 years of stage anniversary, alone 20 years with his cult band “Shock Therapy” which was created by him and with which he brought out 17 albums (which he produced and recorded in mostly alone!…and played all instruments alone!!!). The most well-known and most popular album is “hate is (just) a four letter word”, with the same named single, that you can still hear from the middle of the 80´s till today in all good independent clubs.
In his wildest years he met some famous stars, such as Iggy Pop, U2, Killing Joke, Gang of four, Alice Cooper, the Sex Pistols, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Ramones, Alice in Chains and a majority of the Wave-, Gothik-, and Punkszene and many different more. Cult director Jörg Buttgereit (Nekromantik) made music-videos with him. Also band members of Shock Therapy already played together with Alice Cooper, Motörhead, the reunion of Sex Pistols and Joe Strummer and the mescaleros. For him, one of the personal Highlights in his career, is his late friendship with Charles Bukowski. For his song “genius of the crowd” Itchy took the same named lyrics of Bukowski, and Bukowski´s publisher in america demanded 5000 US Dollar for the “unallowed use of other artists thoughts”. After a telephone call between Bukowski and Itchy (Bukowski called Itchy!), Bukowski visited Itchy and gave him his personal permission to use the text free of charge.
Because of their shining colour Itchy´s paintings remind of Pop-Art. I take the right, as Itchy´s best friend, to put his Art in the Punk-Art cathegorie. The paintings are disturbing and wild, like his own life. The Unikate is a composition from wax-pencil, graphite, acryl colours, light fluorescent acryl colours and colour pencil, which gleam in the high and low mintage character changeful. Each painting is personally signed by Itchy, and a unique piece, which is available only one time. On the back of each painting Itchy expressed his inimitable thoughts, and about that, the painting is not glued with a cardboard.
Itchys painting were also shown at some Exhibitions in New York, Detroit, Hamburg and Paris. Itchy paint since more than 20 years, wrote 3 books and some comics.
If Van Gogh would have painted Punk-Art, his artist name would be been “Itchy”…
ALL PAINTINGS ARE AVAILABLE ONLY ONE TIME (no copies or series) !!!
The artist Gregory-John Mc Cormick (aka ITCHY) is incarcerated at the Parr Highway Correction Facility since 5 years now. He burned down only a tiny pile of trash in a drugdealers garden, who robbed his neigbor, an old Lady, before.
During the five years in prison Itchy already finished more than 60 original paintings and two bookscripts. Also he wrote down more than 100 new songideas.
Before Itchy came to prison, i sold his paintings for 500 - 2000 Dollar (for a small original painting).
Soon Itchy will be released from prison, and you will never get the chance again to buy his paintings for such a cheap price i offered here now...be quick to get one !
As an Management from Germany i tried to link my German Phone Number here, but it create always an error with my German Number and the Email. So I wrote down the number of Itchys father now, to avoid the error again. Now, at least, my Email-Contact data from exe of the Art work well.
Some people already tried to contact me from this page, but since i saw the error to late, i couldn´t react earlier...sorry about that !
If you like to contact me, best use my Eye of the Art Email-address-ink (nc-dellhora@netcologne.de) or contact me under my German Number + 49 (02 14) 3 12 60 84
Have fun...
