Obsessed with color even as a child...I enjoyed creating what I perceived to be Art. As I grew my medium of choice became oils as opposed to crayons. Through the years I have admired the works of many other artists, but I have never been interested in emulating their styles or ideas...I use my imagination and use of colors to create my own definition of what art is to me, in whatever media I happen to be creating in at the time. Whether I am creating a representational collage or the abstract, I try to achieve multiple layers in my pieces which I hope will encourage the viewer to take a deeper look.

My more recent pieces have been a combination of mixed media (Oil pastels, gesso applied to canvas board, shredded molded paper and sometimes shellac) most times without any derived theme. Instead I use color, abstract shapes and surface texture to create my own visual metaphors for contemporary life.

I think these pieces are essentially abstract and could probably best be classified as non-representational, combining a variety of experimental elements which create a representation abstraction.

I hope that those who see my work will allow themselves to be carried away by their unconscious mind, allowing the movement, the texture and the color to shape their conscious mind.
