Iztaccihuatl fell in love a Warrior. Her Father sent him away promising that later, they would marry. While gone, she was decieved and told that he was killed. She died of grief. Upon his return, he took her body into the mountains where he himself died of sorrow.The gods pitied them, covering them with blankets of snow and transforming them into mountains. She became the Sleeping Woman. Her Lover, Popocatepetl the Smoking Mountain, a Volcano which erupts often:an eternal reminder of Love Lost.
