This stunning parrot ,with incredibly vibrant plumage, inhabits the forest borders of the tropical rainforest. Due to the forests conversion to plantations and ranches, the macaw has lost its once fertile, natural habitat.
Mountain Almond Trees, an important food and nesting resource for the Parrot's daily existence, are now logged as tropical hardwood, increasing this Parrot's vulnerability.
