Kit Fox
Kit Fox (vulpes macrotis)
Small mammal of the desert southwest having large ears, black-tipped tails and yellow-gray coat, and weighing in from 3 to 5 lbs. They live in dens on scrublands and are nocturnal hunters. The kit fox is
listed as an endangered species in Colorado and the population is around 100 in the state. They can also be found in Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas,
and in Mexico.
