Born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1980, I moved to New York City at the age of 13 in order to attend the School of American Ballet and Professional Children's School as a recipient of Ford Foundation Scholarships, and also studied art with a teacher from Julliard. During this time, i began to develop a strong interest in physics and mathematics. This lead me to leave the ballet world and persue a PhD in physics. I'm currently working towards my PhD, and obtained my Master's degree last year. My favorite painters are the surrealists and the impressionists. I am inspired by dreamlike images with a dark edge, drawn from imagination and music.
