I am trained as a painter and a photographer. My photography background includes The Maine Photographic Center and The International Center of Photography (ICP). My undergraduate and graduate art school training focused on abstraction and collage. Nevertheless, I’ve always been interested in examining the boundaries between representational and abstract imagery. I feel compelled to find connections between forms and to make structure out of chaos. The context for my work is describing relationships between interior and exterior, revealed and hidden through color and form. Ultimately, my aim is to create an experience of quiet joy and mystery through color andform.
