I love eyes. It says so much. They get prominence in my works. My strength is my composition. I draw through strong lines. They are rigid and snappy, often staccato, evoking a world of stark reality where forms are like puppets. Colours are often used to accentuate flat planes and background serves as geometric decorations. My puppets – gods and humans alike have bulging lips and have an overwhelming presence. I believe visualization plays a big role in paintings.

Born on the 11th of November, 1968, I qualified as a visual artist from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Calcutta University in 1994. In my quest for excellence, I did my diploma in painting from Rabindra Bharati University, Calcutta. I did a course at British Council on book and newspaper design.
In addition to my passion, I work in the largest circulated daily in India, The Times of India, in the capacity of chief designer.
My solo exhibition was at one of the most prestigious art galleries in India, Chitrakoot Art Gallery.
My joint exhibitions have been at:
Birla Academy,
Academy of fine Arts'
Calcutta Information Centre,
Delhi Lokayata art gallery,
Chitromoye State art gallery,
I have shown my collection at Boston, New York and Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi.
Workshops:
Kolkata- in august company senior painters from India. We had discussion on evolving art forms in India.
