I was born and still reside in Cape Town, South Africa and I’ve been drawing and painting since I was a young child.
I was educated at Wynberg boys’ and I studied art for the 12 years that I was there, in fact art class was the only reason I actually attended school at all.
One of my final year paintings was exhibited in the South African National Gallery and this was just confirmation for me that creating art is what I wanted to do with my life.
After leaving school I studied Graphic Design at the Art Directors' Workshop for 2 years and earned my diploma. I went on to study website design at the Computer Science Institute to further my education and broaden my horizons, which it did.
I started working in print media soon after my studies and did so for a long while. A couple of years down the line I felt that I was neglecting my fine art background which was, and still is, far more important to me than design or digital art. I took a year off and painted, exhibited and produced works for commissions and just generally found my creative self once again.
During my time as a professional artist I did many art commissions for banks, overseas buyers and people in South Africa wanting custom art pieces. I sold work through galleries and even did a few murals.
I now work in Website design and animation but I paint in my free time and at night, so I’m working like 16 hours a day, but it’s rewarding so I guess that keeps me going.
I produce so much art using so many different mediums it’s really hard for me to find a starting angle.
I prefer to work in traditional art forms (ie. Painting and drawing) – I produce oil paintings which I love doing, Acrylics, Pen/pencil drawings, Tattoo designs, marker renderings and just about anything to do with traditional art forms.
On the digital side I create logos, websites, digital paintings, photo manipulations, 3d modelings, flash animations and the like – anything and everything.
I believe I can do anything I set my mind to and have proved myself right time and time again.
I really enjoy creating custom pieces or commissions and welcome any projects of the sort, whether it be an oil painting, a character design, a digital painting, a website, a comic book, a fantasy piece or a logo I love to do it all.
