Stjepan Perković was born on April, 1st 1974 in Vitez, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Europe. He lives in Split, Croatia. He prefers using acryl on canvas in his work. He has got a physical handicap called cerebral palsy. Despite these circumstances, he's got skillfulness in his legs so he can write and paint by foot.
Using his feet and toes he has completed elementary and high school in Zagreb, Croatia.
He paints and writes since 1992 in order to express the spirit that moves him from within.
His poetry collection – one for now – called 'Prints of Depth', which he himself illustrated, was published in 1998. He also illustrated five other books of different authors – four poetry collections as well as a cover for a novel.
At present, he is completing his final year at the Free Academy of Art, in the class of Mr. Donald Hall in Split, Croatia. Before that, he has participated in three-year painting workshop in Medjugorje, led by professor Carmelo Puzzolo. Also he was a participant of great number of art collonies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. He had over twenty collective exhibitions (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, France) and eleven independent ones. He is a member of the international association of painters who paint with a mouth and feet, settled in Liechtenstein, Europe.
