Yuri Yemets was born in 1974. His childhood was spent in the USSR at the time of perestroika. Times were hard and people were poor. From the age of nine he began painting, and his parents were always on at Yuri for getting paint on his clothes and on the tablecloth.
When Yuri reached adulthood the country was falling apart and no one had time for art. In order to survive he had to try many professions, but even during those difficult times he continued to draw for his own pleasure.
Having set up a successful business back home, in 2003 Yuri moved to London, the European Capital of Art, in order to devote his life to fine art.
Yuri is a professional painter, designer, restorer – he uses oils and acrylics on canvas for original works as well as bouquet of techniques and artistry, with music always playing on the background.
Yuri’s life is an example of a single-minded progression towards a goal, following his heart.
