A Legacy of Community Health Leadership
With over four decades of impact, Eye of the Art continues to break barriers in underserved communities:
- Operates eight health centers across the Bronx and New York City
- Runs school-based clinics in 20 public schools
- Offers a continuum of care, including primary care, dental, behavioral health, women’s health, and HIV/AIDS services
- Provides access to health education, social services, and care coordination
We serve individuals and families at every life stage—from childhood through adulthood—regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
Innovation Is in Our DNA
Eye of the Art has been a trailblazer in community-based health care, setting new standards for care delivery and access:
- First federally funded community health center in NYC accredited by The Joint Commission
- Pioneered the first out-of-hospital birthing center in a low-income community, operated by certified midwives
- Founded the Women’s Health Pavilion, a legacy program providing comprehensive care to women across the Bronx
- Early and continued leader in HIV/AIDS care, selected as one of three national pilot sites for integrated service models now used across the country
- Founding member of Affinity Health Plan (formerly The Bronx Health Plan), among the first managed care programs for local residents
